Is your home ready for summer? If it’s a Paul Home, it’s definitely prepared to take on the summer heat. All Paul Homes are energy efficient – designed to keep you cool throughout the hottest months of the year, without huge electric bills.

To keep our homes energy efficient, Paul Homes begins with an Energy Savings Package which includes Low-E tinted windows, R-7.7 energy board on masonry walls, R-30 or as required insulation in ceilings, a 16 SEER A/C unit and 50 gallon water heater, mastic all duct joints and a programmable thermostat.

Energy Efficiency Features Explained

What does all this mean? Low-E coatings minimize the amount of ultraviolet and infrared light that can pass through glass without compromising the amount of visible light that is transmitted. Low-E coatings are energy efficient, working to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler during the summer months.

Programmable thermostats have been used for several years and may reduce energy bills by programming which allows for higher temperatures in the home during the hours when the home is not occupied. The thermostat can then be programmed to  turn the air conditioning down before people arrive home, keeping it cool and comfortable when you are home.

There are additional options for buyers who are looking for increased energy efficiency including spray foam insulation which

can be added during the building process in place of standard insulation in the walls and ceilings.
